Manufactured from 1961-1986, the Gillette Slim is a bit of a hot commodity. With it's adjustable settings and slimline design, it makes for a perfect shave. It's durability has lasted for generations and is still going strong. Made with high quality materials and a sleek design, it's a beautiful vintage piece.

The Gillette Slim Adjustable is a well made product of it's time, most commonly sold with nickle plating but you can find some with the gold plating. Most of the razors weight can be found in the head which makes for a more balanced shave. It was manufactured with knurling on the handle that provides a tight grip under soapy conditions. As far as double edge shaving goes you couldn't make it any easier for blade changes than with the twist to open feature.

It has a lock mechanism that will keep the blade in place during usage and cleaning, for easier maintenance. Gillette has certainly produced some of the best double edge safety razors and the Slim is one of the most sought after. With it's top of the line features and well crafted materials it makes for a perfect long lasting piece, that will stand up to those tough whiskers.

I have tried dozens of razors and always come back to the Gillette slim. Bought my first slim in 1965 now I own 11, still using the first one i bought. Its perfect in every way, it loves crystal and shark blades. You asked me to rate the Gillette slim so I am its perfect.

My 1963 (I 3) slim is still in regular use and will continue to be so, it is an excellent shaver and shares its duties with a Wilkinson of ’68 vintage. No, they really don’t make ’em like that any more, that’s why mine are NOT for sale.

Mine is a 1962, I gave aggressiveness a 10 since it’s completely adjustable to suit your own taste. You can dial it to a 1 and barely get a shave at all, and at a 10 it doubles as a food processor! I normally set it at about a 4 but my beard isn’t thick or coarse. I shave with it regularly, very happy to have it!

Great razor,I have 2 techs, and a super speed which give nice shaves, but I think the adjustable is the better razor for me. I am 70 years old, and have used about most the common razors available over the years and am glad I have gone back to the traditional wet shave!

Can anyone explain how my Slim is an F4…and they weren’t made until 1961?? …and yes I’m sure of the date code.

It’s an excellent razor. Almost perfect!
